Success Stories
Like many nurse educators across
the country, faculty at Macon State College School of Nursing and Health
Sciences in Macon, Georgia wanted a patient simulator to augment student lab
and clinical experience.
A Laerdal
SimMan® simulator was purchased a year ago for the Associate Degree Nursing
program, but educators found themselves underutilizing the product.

SimMan3G makes his grand “opening” at the Baltimore SUN
Over 150 Simulation Users Networked in Baltimore, Maryland at the inaugural SUN event for 2009. Customers from hospitals, universities and EMS agencies joined together with over 20 industry leading speakers and panelists. Over 70% of the attendees were new to the SUN network with a great mix of beginners and experienced simulation customers.
Hands-on sessions run by the Laerdal Education Services team mixed with presentations and networking opportunities had participants engaged for 2 ½ days. The SUN agenda was developed based on feedback from the 2008 SUNs. After a ½ day pre-conference of scenario programming for VitalSim, the day 1 tracks were designed to address varied skill groups based on the simulation adoption curve. Day 2 tracks were designed to specifically support users within their healthcare settings. These sessions are lead by leaders from Nursing Schools, pre-hospital, and in-hospital participants and coupled with more hands-on activities. Check out the full agenda at www.laerdal.com/SUN.
The highlight of the conference was a very active megacode run by MedStar Health starring SimMan3G whose chest was cracked open to restart his heart.
